Like many other bootstrapped apps, ShareFeels.io was born out of various frustrations. I'm a freelancer in Tech and have been for most of my career. There are many ups and downs, good days, and bad days. The high intensity is rewarding, and I prefer this work-life because I get exposed to various projects across many industries, meeting many people from different backgrounds and continually learning. But ...
High intensity comes with a cost
The cost is anxiety and stress ... and it's hard to tell when your colleagues are overwhelmed. We all are really good at masking anxiety, stress, and other negative feelings.
Anxiety and stress are somehow inevitable
I'm not a neuroscientist but at the core, our brain works something like this:
- It creates scenarios based on information coming from the world
- Matches that information with your personal past experiences
- Analyses the difference
- It gives you a result in the shape of an emotion
- The emotion is followed by a reaction(stressor/change)
This process goes on unconsciously probably millions of times per day.
Minimising anxiety and stress
To minimise anxiety and stress, we need to change our perspective. An easy way to do it is to check with other people, do they feel what we feel, do they see what we see? A conversation will likely change how you see difficult situations. You will stop living in your head and see things for what they really are.
It's like walking on eggshells until you get to the point where you can speak freely about difficult situations. Too often, you are moving in circles, not hitting the point at all. This process is really sensitive, you don't want to be judged for something that might not even be real. This is why we created ShareFeels.io.
ShareFeels is a conversation starter
ShareFeels.io is an app where you and your group of friends, colleagues, etc., vote how you feel about a situation on a scale from 1(low) to 5(happy). This is all anonymous. After you vote how you feel, you will instantly see how the group feels(an average of all the votes).
🧙♂️This is where the magic starts:
Use the groups' average as common ground to start a conversation! It's super easy! Just ask your group: "Why do you feel like a 4.2, or a 3.5"... whatever the average.
Regardless if you feel better or lower than your group, you will adjust your mood and change how you feel by seeing a different perspective. Help each other figure out what the actual reality is.
The magic is done! Easy? 🤓
Does it work?
I'm using ShareFeels with my teams and have been for the past few years. Works every time, and I'm telling you; It helped me and my colleagues avoid many sleepless nights and unnecessary stress about work.
I recently started using it with family and friends, more about that soon! :)
Try it out today, it's free! I hope ShareFeels.io will benefit you as much as it benefits me!
